GAA: SHOCK AS GLENSWILLY MANAGERS QUIT AFTER INCREDIBLE SEASON

first_imgGLENSWILLY retained their Division One status today with a fine victory over Malin in the relegation play-off – and were then stunned when joint managers John McGinley and Gary McDaid said they were stepping down. The duo had led the small parish side to the county championship just a few weeks ago.And they finished their fine season with the superb seven point win over Malin in the play-off at MacCumhaill Park Ballybofey this afternoon. Glenswilly showed what the top flight status meant from the start with a point from McFadden after just 40 seconds before Neil Gallagher fisted a goal to the back of the Malin net.The Inishowen men saw Seamus Doherty point but Glenswilly hit back with more scores from McFadden and Murphy, playing at half-forward.The county champions quickly had a five point lead – which they were never to surrender.Murphy, Gallagher and McFadden were in fine form throughout the game and despite the best efforts of Declan Walsh and Matthew Byrne, Glenswilly were just too good on the day. The final score Glenswilly 1-13 Malin 0-09 – was a fair reflection on the game. But the Glen must be wondering how they can repalce John McGinley and Gary McDaid who stepped down from their roles tonight.GAA: SHOCK AS GLENSWILLY MANAGERS QUIT AFTER INCREDIBLE SEASON was last modified: November 20th, 2011 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:glenswillyMalinlast_img read more
