Share Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest We are definitely making some progress. We have been getting very spotty rains anywhere from a tenth to a half inch. Corn in this area has progressed but a lot of guys are still not done. Bean planting has been about the same. There have been some guys that have been able to stay in the fields, but there are small pockets that have maybe only been able to plant 100 acres or so in the last two or three weeks. We have all of our corn done but about 60 acres. It is a wet farm and we have been trying to let it dry. The chance of rain is not very high through the weekend and we are hoping to get it done in the next few days. We are hoping to get beans finished up too. We have several hundred acres of beans to go and then some custom work.We are getting along. Conditions are not really ideal and the ground is still plenty heavy, but everything we have planted seems to be coming up and looking good.So far emergence has been looking pretty good and coming up in six or seven days. I don’t think we are going to see much replant around here.We haven’t had a lot of pounding rains and the ground has stayed pretty soft. As long as we continue like we are, I think everything is going to be OK. We are pretty clean on weeds and I have not seen any insect problems at this point.Yesterday we actually started sidedressing some of the earliest corn we planted. We are just hoping to get done and keep moving on with sidedressing. The forecast looks pretty good for the next week and if we can keep on course we’ll be alright, but I do think we are behind some places.
